Dr. Vangara failed as a professional during my very rushed appointment. This was my first and last appointment with him.
A large portion of the time was wasted because he was typing notes into his laptop with two index fingers.
He showed little interest in learning the details of my chief complaint.
He showed little interest in prior irregular lab results.
He seemed confused when I pointed out contradictions to his statements.
He had no explanation of any possible causes of my chief complaint.
He prescribed no diagnostic testing for my chief complaint.
I left the appointment feeling that he didn't know what to do when presented with a case that isn't routine. If this was the situation, then he showed little care and concern for my health. He could have referred me to a different gastroenterologist or at least he could have scheduled the next appointment much sooner.
I don't expect a doctor to know about every possible condition, but I do expect them to show some care and professionalism.
His staff were all pleasant though.
