Hello, I’m Dr. Steven Kessler, a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in the field. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester and completed my Adult Psychiatry training at UConn School of Medicine. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of patients, from those struggling with depression to those facing severe mental health challenges. I’ve dedicated much of my career to both advancing my own knowledge and ensuring my patients have access to the most progressive and effective treatments available.
Having worked closely with the Veteran community for more than a decade, I deeply understand how mental health care can profoundly impact individuals' lives. It’s not just about treating symptoms—it’s about restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and guiding patients toward a brighter, more fulfilling future. This holistic approach is central to how I practice psychiatry.
I’m particularly passionate about cutting-edge treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (esketamine), which offer new hope to patients battling severe depression and other hard-to-treat mental health conditions. These innovative therapies are at the forefront of psychiatric care, providing powerful, non-invasive options for those who have not responded to traditional treatments.
As someone who also serves as a lecturer and has held various academic leadership roles, I aim to share my knowledge and experiences with others in the field, ensuring that all of us continue to evolve and improve in our care.

The provider never saw me. I scheduled the appointment with the doctor's APRN and waited for 30 minutes before logging off when no one arrived. :( This was a rescheduled appointment, so maybe the new date was never logged? I'm not sure. I am disappointed though.

The staff was very informative and answered an questions or concerns I had. The office is beautiful! Not your typical drab, white medical office. I was made to feel right at home. The made me an expresso while I waited couple minutes for the doctor. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone searching for TMS or other behavioral health treatments.
