Regarding a medical visit I'd rather forget, I am mortified that a woman receptionist called to inform my husband saying that I had forgotten my appointment. At our age of 78, he thought that I been in an accident--or something worse! I had already been in the waiting room for well over an hour, having checked in with a male receptionist earlier.
I was seated in close proximity to the desk, allowing me to hear discourse from the people at the check-in area. Ironically, I overheard the woman receptionist say (on the phone) to someone in the doctor's office, "She (meaning me) just walked in." This was her way of covering her tracks, I'm sure; I had already been waiting for 1 1/2 hours.
Sadly, she saw no need to re-contact my husband, informing him that I was indeed O.K.
The entire wait time was almost two hours when I finally saw Dr. Wardell. It seems that the health information which I came to glean was not readily available. I was told that it was a computer glitch. More time to sit and wait!
The entire appointment was a comedy of errors and definitely unacceptable in a seemingly professional setting!

I've had hip pain for quite awhile. I prefer homeopathic remedies over drugs/surgery. Dr. Wardell was able to prescribe appropriate stretches to relieve my tendonitis without drugs/surgeries. Loved that!

Dr. Wardell suggested other physicians at the Palos Heights office who helped diagnose my problem. It was a combination of seeing other physicians on staff, but I was pleased with Dr. Wardell. He showed a genuine concern in finding the answer to my pain.

Dr. Wardell took the time to explain how a knee replacement would be done. He was very thorough and didn't rush me through the appointment. He was able to answer any questions that I had and also provided me with options other than surgery. I liked his manner and will more than likely decide to proceed with the surgery in January.

Dr. Wardell came highly recommended from another health professional and a relative who'd been a patient, so my expectations were high. And, they were met: he was respectful, patient, personable, conservative (i.e., though a surgeon, he recommended going step by step with the first step being shots.) I'm a good patient but with a low pain threshold for pain. Dr. Wardell explained the shot without sugarcoating that it was a long needle in the knee, afterall. Well, I take laughing gas FOR novocaine shots at the dentist so I was nervous. I shouldn't have been; his technique made it just a tad more than the discomfort of a flu shot. We discussed that this doesn't cure the problem and I know what's in the future and feel confident now being in his care.
The office is new & very clean. Friendly, very efficient staff. I don't have a Google acct. or I'd give him a plus one! above on it.
