Overall a good experience! Had a weird hiccup with my insurance which ended up in me being seen late but it was all figured out. Dr. was very nice, but weirdly quick, then again it was just an annual check up with no actual concern. Not a big deal, but the office smelled strange when I first walked in. It went away but definitely didn’t smell like a docs office. Dr. was great overall though.

Dr. Burugu is excellent! She is so kind and was patient with me when I was explaining concerns I had, but very efficient when it came to figuring out logistics (quickly gave me the referrals and orders I needed). She is terrific and I’m glad I found her!

Dr. Burugu completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Secunderabad. She earned her Medical Degree and internship from the University of Health Science Centre. Her internal medicine residency was completed at Oakwood Hospital, affiliated with Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. After her internship, she attended the University of Texas, San Antonio, where she earned a Master of Public Health (MPH). She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Upon finishing residency, Dr. Burugu worked as an outpatient clinician at Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX. She was considered one of the best clinicians there. Working with retired military personnel helped polish her skills as an internist. She also served as an inpatient physician at St. David's Hospital, where she gained experience in a challenging environment. Her interests include treating patients with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids.
