Sung is a Licensed Acupuncturist. He earned the degree of Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science and speaks Korean, Japanese and English conversationally.
Sung studied Korean Palm acupuncture and practices traditional Chinese medicine based on Korean acupuncture tradition and philosophy which is Donguibogam, including Korean 4 Points treatment, which is called “Saam Acupuncture”
Donguibogam emphasizes the importance of disease prevention and medical pragmatism, and is used to treat a variety of ailments, common and rare symptoms and diagnoses with acupuncture and moxibustion techniques and prescriptions. Most importantly, it emphasizes that people can treat their disease by themselves through the prevention and self healing.
Saam acupuncture is a traditional Korean acupuncture that invented by Korean Monk “Saam”. He combined Five Shu points to address the meridians’ deficiency and excess.
It’s also known as the “Korean four-needle technique” in TCM and is based on the five elements: fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. The goal of Saam acupuncture is to rebalance the Qi within the five elements and the twelve meridians.
Sung has knowledge of balance method treatment (created by Dr. Richard Tan), and Master Tong Point treatment.
Sung’s treatment focus areas include pain management, mental health such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD etc. Sung is also passionate about the study of stroke, Alzheimer and Parkinson disease and body paralysis using scalp acupuncture and Moxa therapy.
Sung also has completed certificate course of medical Qi gong, balance method, and trigger point treatment for pain management.
