Sunil Thadani, M.D., M.P.H. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Fellowship trained Corneal Specialist. He performs Cataract Surgery including Toric and Multifocal intraocular implants, anterior segment surgery and corneal transplant surgery. He also practices General Ophthalmology.
A Maryland native, Dr. Thadani received dual Bachelor’s degree in biology and liberal arts from The George Washington University. He received his Medical Degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Thadani also holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from The Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Thadani completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship training in Cornea and External Diseases at the New England Eye Center and The Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston in Boston, Massachusetts.
He successfully performed Washington County’s first partial thickness Corneal Transplant using the DSEK procedure at Meritus Hospital in January 2011.
Dr. Thadani is accepting new patients for Medical and Surgical eye care needs as well as general eye exams and corneal consultations. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Cataracts, Glaucoma, Corneal Disease, Macular Degeneration, Dry Eye and various other eye conditions and ailments. He also provides comprehensive eye examinations and prescriptions for eyeglasses.
