My husband and I recently decided to try to have a baby so I wanted a gyno I could trust with the process. I wanted a doctor that would put me at ease and have amazing bedside manner when it comes to experiencing something for the first time like childbirth. This was my first visit at this office and I decided to come based on previous reviews of how great their pregnancy was because of Dr. Varma and they did not disappoint! Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Dr. Varma because she was fighting the good fight against corona virus but I met Andrew, a student doctor in training, and a practitioner (I forgot her name but blonde, slight accent) and they were GREAT. Annual exams make me so uncomfortable and anxious and they were nothing but kind and went above and beyond to keep me at ease. The exam was painless, comfortable (as much as it can be) and QUICK! I look forward to meeting Dr. Varma and starting my journey to motherhood with her and her team!

Upon completion of her studies at John Hopkins, she was honored to receive the outstanding chief resident teaching award. As a new patient, I compared this experience with my previous OB GYN and was disappointed. It was not clear from the website that unless you specifically request the doctor, you are likely to be seen by a Physician’s Assistant (PA) and a student PA. I have been to other practices where a PA might see you but, in all cases, this was made clear when I was making the appointment and I was given the option of changing the appointment date to another date/time in order to see the doctor. This was not the case here. A student PA took my vitals and asked if I had had high blood pressure before, but my blood pressure is exactly on target for my age group. Student PAs also took the blood samples. After saying that I had good veins because they were easy to see, the student failed twice to get the needle in properly and I left without getting blood taken. I waited 25 minutes for the doctor and was surprised when a PA and student arrived. When I expressed my dismay, they notified me that I should have requested the doctor if I wanted to see her. Given my reticence, however, they did offer to see if the doctor was available. She was, and she was willing to see me. I had a positive experience with her and might be willing to try one more time.

Her staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately my appointment fell on the day that they were super short staffed, which is why i waited a really long time. Otherwise, no issues at all.

The support staff at this office is terrible. The phlebotomist blew out my vein and even though I’d come in after an abortion (which she knew from my record) she asked if I’d ever been pregnant. There’s a level of preparedness missing from these women. Read people’s charts, prepare what you’re going to say, and walk in prepared. Know how to draw blood. Keep detailed notes. These are the basics of medicine that I can’t believe I have to reiterate.

Listen.. if you want to get forced into accepting a hormonal birth control prescription and have your other concerns ignored, feel free to go to this doc. Unfortunate that she’s so flop because her RNs are incredible.

My visit was exceptional. The staff are very warm and receptive allowing you instantly feel comfortable. The information and detailed explanations provided left little to no room for confusion or curiosity. Dr. Varma is amazing at providing reassurance without much effort. After experiment with several OBGYN's this year, I have finally found one that takes the time out to treat me like human rather than a check/ inconvenience.

The staff was amazing (like always) & Dr. Varma is great! It takes me about 45 minutes to get to the office from home but it's definitely worth the drive for amazing service! I can't recommend this office enough!
