Dr. Lewis is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. She completed her medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine and her residency and sports medicine fellowship at UCSF. She was a physician for the Women's Professional Tennis Tour and served as staff physician for the Honolulu Marathon. She has also served as an athlete physician for the US Olympic Trials in Track & Field. She is the doctor for most Bay Area Broadway shows, Cirque du Soleil and the San Francisco Ballet School. An athlete herself, Dr Lewis sees everyone from weekend warriors to professional athletes. She knows how important sports and staying active are for both the body and the soul and looks forward to helping all her patients get back to doing what they love.
Launched in 1979 by pioneering surgeon James G. Garrick, MD, the Center for Sports Medicine at Saint Francis is the longest-running hospital-based athletic injury treatment program in the country. We have been promoting good health and furthering the dreams of professional and nonprofessional athletes, performers and active adults for more than 35 years. Our multidisciplinary team includes Orthopedic Surgery, Primary Care Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, Physiatry, and Dancemedicine who work together to deliver the precise, customized treatment for maximum recovery.
