Finding the right fit between a patient and psychiatrist is so personal and individual. I was lucky to find Dr Glezerman a number of years ago. What she brings to the table is so rare---an incredibly stringent analytical mind, a thoughtful diagnostician, and a compassionate caregiver. She's absolutely top-notch.
I've been a patient of Dr. Glezerman's since 2016. When I first saw her, I was deep in the trenches of depression and I didn't know what to do. Although some people would think she's the typical type of psychiatrist to automatically prescribe medication for your condition, I can honestly say she is NOT. She is an absolute expert that easily read my condition / symptoms and knew they could be alleviated by medication, but that it wasn't something I had to take forever. Believe me, I'm the type to avoid medication unless absolutely necessary! Having taken the medication along with the insightful sessions with Dr. Glezerman, I began to see huge differences in myself in how I ruminate about things in relation to myself and to my life. I didn't feel like I was being swallowed by a deep abyss anymore or that I had to continue carrying all this mental baggage. That these were just effects of my condition and there were reasons for it and they weren’t my fault. I could function normally at work and just BE, which was AMAZINGLY HUGE for me. Within the first few sessions, I was VERY close to switching to another psychiatrist because I wasn't too sure if the sessions were really helping or not or if she really understood me on a “deeper” level. But I stuck it out because over time, I discovered that she COMPLETELY understood me and my thought processes, but what prevented the sessions from working was that I wasn't fully open or transparent in everything I felt or thought when I spoke to her. I was trying to hide my thoughts so she could tell me what was right or wrong. Over time, I learned to trust her and open up, and that's when I saw the symbiotic relationship happen between myself and her expertise and how much she has helped me evolve as a person. I will admit she's not everyone's cup of tea. If you're looking for someone to coddle you and agree with you, then she's not for you. If you're looking for no-holds barred feedback and processing of your situation and diagnosis, she's the one that will kindly help but effectively kick your butt along to get you moving again in your life.

The doctor was concise and punctual, she made me feel comfortable right away and had patience with all of my questions.
I was rushed out of the office and overcharged for a copay when I clearly had proof of the price for my visit.
Dr. Glazerman is a bit brusque, but she's also brilliant and keeps her schedule rain or shine.
Great - thorough, courteous, friendly, professional, knowledgable! Listened to my concerns.
She quickly understood my problem and sugested measures that proved to be effective.
Suscinct- to the point- no messing around. Mature, wise, knowing.
Have only seen her once. Seemed genuine and knowledgeable.
Fabulous!

I have been a patient of Dr Glezerman's for a few years now. From my experience, she is invested in her patients' well being. She is understanding and caring, without being overbearing. She is very frank and no nonsense, which I appreciate but others may not respond well to.
Booked an appointment weeks in advance and when I came in she pushed my appointment back an hour, while seeing patients that walked in before me.

She seemed very disorganized and kept losing my paperwork on her desk, kept asking me why I was there and kept telling me that she only is in the office 1 1/2 days a week and is extremely busy. She wrote me my prescriptions alright. When I saw her month later she told me that I was "too sick" and that I should find another psychiatrist because she doesn't take on bipolar disorder patients or patients with chronic mental illness. She also went on to explain that I had a past with substance abuse and she couldn't take that on either. Her demeanor was abrupt leaving one who doesn't already have anxiety extremely anxious. Why see a psychiatrist in the first place if you don't have a chronic mental illness? Three quarters of people at least in New York City ARE suffering from bipolar disorder and about two fifths of that have had a past of substance abuse. This is the first and only time I was ever rejected treatment by a psychiatrist.
I will not do Dr. Glezerman the pleasure of a thorough review because, trust me, she wouldn't care. For those of you interested in making an appointment with this dr., do yourself the favor and read the other reviews. They are SPOT ON and that is not an exageration. This was the worst experience i've ever had seeing a psychiatrist or any physician for that matter. I got my Rx filled, that's the only pro to the entire experience. Unless you enjoy leaving a psychiatrist appointment feeling as though you've walked out of a manipulative, mentally abusive relationship, stay clear of Dr. Glezerman. It's unfortunate and sad that many patients may actually see her while suffering from those exact circumstances in their life.

I found Dr Glezerman to be professional, efficient, smart, and kind. Glad to have found Dr. Glezerman through ZocDoc. I highly recommend.
I was a patient of Dr. Glezerman's for about a year prior to stopping our sessions temporarily. My visits with her were always just OK. She treated me for my ADHD, but would constantly try to put me on new medications. I was open to her explanation as to why I should be put on these new medications, but she barely put in the effort and simply just said I needed them, never expounding on why. She pushed and pushed, but made no effort to connect with me, and I was tired of feeling like my opinions weren't being valued and my thoughts weren't being considered. I was recently returned to her office as I started a new job and was feeling quite overwhelmed and inundated with new information. This time, she was even more cold than usual, and after she reviewed my personal history, proceeded to try and prescribe me mood stabilizers and anxiety medications when I gave her no indication that I was struggling with either of those issues. There was no level of trust between Dr. Glezerman and myself, simply because she made no attempt to offer guidance, empathy, listen, or make me feel safe. If she had done just 1 of those 4 things, I wouldn't even be writing this review. However, if you're considering using Dr. Glezerman, I would highly encourage you to keep looking. She is apathetic, cold, money-hungry, and selfish.
Dr. Glezerman is an extremely knowledgeable and no-nonsense professional. Her direct approach/bedside manner may be abrasive to some but I prefer a doctor who tells me what's best for me and doesn't coddle me, especially when it comes to my mental health. In terms of treatment she prefers small dosages and combinations of medications rather than high doses of one medicine -- her style worked well for me. I think she is very kind and cares a lot about her patients despite her initial harsh impression.
I have PTSD and comorbid depression. I have been on an antidepressant for four years now and managing just fine. I recently moved to the city to begin working on my master's degree and made an appointment with Dr. Glezerman out of convenience. First appointment, she spent an hour and a half digging into my life story and chastising my life choices and reflections. Fine, whatever. I've had doctors do worse. But then, near the two hour mark, she told decided to refuse to "take my case" due to "the severity" of my depression and said I should find another doctor. She demanded I pay the copay in cash, without checking with billing to make sure the amount was correct. Then she gave me a prescription for an ANTIPSYCOTIC, despite the fact that I have never had an episode of psychosis in my entire life and have never needed another medication other than my SNRI. Right before I left the office she wrote me a prescription for a three month supply of my antidepressant. My insurance company only covers three month prescriptions, so, good. When my pharmacy called her to verify, she changed her mind--without speaking to me--and only granted a ONE month supply. I pay hundreds of dollars for insurance only to have this woman refuse to give me a medication in the supply that my insurance covers. I had to pay OUT OF POCKET for a bottle of pills because of this woman. I've seen some terrible physicians, but she takes the cake. I would give her zero stars if I could. PLEASE do not see her. She will take your money and refuse to take care of you.
Truly the worst Doctor I have ever seen.
she is condescending, rude and not compassionate. Does not really listened, but right away, diagnosed and prescribed meds. WOuld not recommend her to no one!
Has some interesting ideas about medication, but her bedside manner is so poor that I felt like I was in a sitcom. Very "European style" as she puts it-- she knows everything and the patient knows nothing. If you want someone to medicate you and nothing else, Dr. Glezerman would probably be OK. If you want to have any type of back-and-forth, this doctor is a complete disaster.
Very brusque with dialogue, kept cutting me off to take notes. This was my first time visiting a psychiatrist. I think I was looking for a better dialogue when diving into my medical history/symptoms before immediate diagnosis and prescription dispensions.
This doc does not accept credit card payments or FSA card payments so you have to bring cash or check only. I also did not realize before I went to see her that she specializes in geriatric Psych. I wish I had known this before my visit. She is not great at working with people that are not geriatric and need to work for a living in that she does not like commonly prescribed meds. and was quick to suggest much stronger meds that could impair day to day function. She was not super patient during our discussions and jumped on things I said and misinterpreted them or the timeline/time sequence I was referring to. She seemed impatient with me at times when we were trying to communicate which is not great for patients who are not feeling well and going through struggles. She was not great at developing a rapport and trust with me so I prefer not to go back to her.
Overall - this was the worst doctor I have seen in 10 years. First appointment was fine. She actually gave me a medication that was far more helpful than the one I had been on. Second appointment she didn't come out to get me because I didn't ring the bell, because I came in at the same time as another patient. So I waited for an hour while she carried on with the previous patient. I thought appointments have start and end times. Third appointment I had to wait 15 minutes. I get at the physicans, etc that happens, but not at therapy. You have a start and end time. She scolded me and I left feeling worse than when I had gotten there. This woman was awful, unprofessional, rude and cold.
Dr. Glezerman is very knowledgeable and straightforward. I had my first appointment with her today and it was great. I look forward to seeing her again.
I moved from out-of-state and needed a new doctor. First appointment was OK. She just wanted to ask her list of questions. She said she doesn't like putting people on a lot of medication, so she cut the doses of mine (without seeing the records from my doc back home). She didn't have my billing set up, so she charged me for my appointment when I should have paid nothing. Second appointment, she realized I have "ObamaCare." She told me she did not care for that insurance and I should find a new doctor. She said she was going to have her billing person find out how to get her out of accepting it and though it might take months, I should consider finding a new doctor since even her current long term patients will either have to pay out of pocket or find a new doctor. She offered to have me continue with her and pay out of pocket, but I opted to cut ties. I wouldn't be so sour on the medication change if 1. it worked for me, 2. she followed through and 3. didn't dump me on the second visit. I just don't think saying you are in-network then refusing to treat someone based on insurance is OK.
It was odd at first. I expected to be greeted by someone when I arrived. Then when we finally met, she didn't introduce herself by name and she didn't look like the photo so I wasn't sure it was her. She was very curt but my son who was the patient, liked her. Sometimes I guess it's all about chemistry.
Please do not see this woman. She is advertised on this site as being a Cognitive Therapist, and she is NOT. I came to her seeking help learning CBT methods and instead I left with 4 different prescriptions. She double booked me and I had to wait at least 30 minutes so she could take the other person before me. Then, when I finally got in to talk with her, she was poking fun at me for asking questions about the prescriptions, laughing and saying, "It's obvious you have anxiety." Sorry that I like to be knowledgeable about what I'm putting into my body and what side effects/risks are, and I'm not going to blindly follow you, especially since you're giving me something I never asked for. And yes, I do struggle with anxiety, and how dare you patronize me when I am coming to you for help. I left her office thinking I may give one of the meds a shot, which I did for about a month, and it turned me into a complete zombie. I called her for guidance, worrying that it wasn't right for me, and she yelled at me over the phone that I wasn't taking the 4 meds she had given me. THANKS for the help and for wasting a month of my life. Her bedside manner is terrible, and her advice is worse. Please do yourself a favor and find someone else.
I have been seeing Dr. Gezerman for over 3 years. She is always available when needed provides a lot of attentions and support. Highly recommended.
Dr. Gezerman may be the most insightful, honest, and compassionate professional of my acquaintance. She is knowledgable and attentive regarding medications, but she excels in extended sessions, where her relentless curiosity and impatience with untruth can drive a patrient to acquire deeper understanding. Dr. Glezerman blends a scientist's empiricism, a nurse's concern, and an artist's intuition. I feel much healthier for having seen her.
Dr. Glezerman was surprisingly harsh and unwelcoming. She insulted my place of work and took issue with the medicines that other doctors had prescribed for me in the past. While I respect that she was giving me her honest opinion, I do not understand why she felt the need to make me feel bad for professional decisions that other doctors made. She repeatedly used the word "spoiled" to describe me and my medical history. The appointment lasted about 30 minutes. I was also amazed that she required payment by cash or check up front before she would begin the appointment. Overall, I do not think that this was an appropriate way to treat someone who has made an appointment to discuss their chronic depression. She wrote me several prescriptions and told me that I would need to come back every two weeks, even though I already see a therapist once a week. It is so hard to find psychiatrists in this city who actually accept insurance, but after this negative experience I will definitely not be going back to Dr. Glezerman. I would rather live with depression than feel like I am going to be made to feel worse every time I go to my doctor.
