Dr. Bloch has been very helpful & receptive. He is very patient & cares about the well being of his patient. Only thing I would suggest changing would be the parking situation at the building.
Very comfortable environment. At ease discussing changes in mood during visit to monitor medications. Always returns calls promptly for medication/scheduling needs.

More about Dr. Ted Bloch III, MD

The increasing medicalization of Psychiatry has led to the virtual abandonment of the “talking cure” in exchange for prescribing a pill for every malady of the human psyche. I STILL TALK TO PATIENTS! It is my belief that every human being is unique as are their experiences. This uniqueness requires attentive listening and is one area in Medicine where a “one size fits all, algorithmic, cookie cutter approach” is not the best practice. I enjoy doing psychotherapy and went into this field because I like talking to people and am curious about the human condition. My background and training is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, but in actuality, I practice an eclectic mix of several different types of therapy. These include psychodynamic, supportive, cognitive - behavioral, and hypnosis. I am not wedded to one particular form of therapy and believe that the best type of therapy is the one that works for a particular patient. I believe in evidenced based medicine and stay abreast of the latest pharmacologic advances in Psychiatry as well as my sub specialties of Child and Adolescent and Geriatric Psychiatry. I regularly attend the NEI Psychopharmacology Congress where cutting edge developments in pharmacology are presented. I also attend the annual meetings in Child and Adolescent and Geriatric Psychiatry so that I may stay current in the most recent developments in these disciplines. I am very interested in the overall health and emotional well being of my patients. As a physician, I am always mindful of the inextricable relationship between mind and body. As such, I am a staunch advocate of the role of exercise, nutrition and meditation in achieving optimal emotional well being.

Very quick and easy appointment.
Dr. Block reassured me and was very knowleddgible with my son's diagnosis. He gave me the tools I needed to help my son w/ADHD and Dyslexia. He was very good at educating me on medication and their side effects & benefits, pros & cons.
As is generally the case, I had a good visit with Dr. Bloch. He has been an extremely valuable presence and resource for me for a decade. I would steer my closest friends to Doc if they were in need of therapy/counseling.
My visit was excellent. Suggestions are given as to why I might be feeling a particular way and what might be causing particular problems. Medications are monitored very closely. Time is always provided for emergency situations such as a death of a spouse. The doctor appears devoted to his patients and is truly interested in them.
Dr. Bloch put me at ease right away. He was extremely easy to talk to and I felt he listened attentively. He also had solutions for my issues that I could put in place immediately. Scheduling was very easy as well, Dr. Bloch worked with me and went out of his way to accomadate my busy work schedule.
