Dr Cathell is a great practicioner who uses a holistic approach to chiropractic treatment. I’ve found his approach to correcting the muscular imbalances and issues which cause joint pain through stretching, excercises and other non-adjustive methods to be far more beneficial than simply “getting adjusted.”

Dr. Tom Cathell was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where he attended the University of Pittsburgh earning his B.S. in Psychology. He then went on to graduate with Honors from New York Chiropractic College where he earned additional certifications in Sports Injury Management & Performance and Whole Foods Nutrition, and spent the last portion of his clinical training at the VA Medical Center in Bath New York as part of the chronic pain management team. Dr. Cathell enjoys treating patients from all walks of life, but holds particular interest in treating military service members, martial artists, weightlifters, Crossfitters, hockey players, and chronic pain patients. He is certified in Dry Needling and RockTape, and is currently working towards certifications in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and McKenzie MDT. In his spare time, Dr. Cathell enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the gym, reading, and practicing jiu jitsu.

If you are looking for a chiropractor, that is kind, and knows what they are doing Dr. Cathell, is it. Even during this pandemic, we felt safe to go to his Ashburn office, as it was clean, and the staff was friendly and prompt.

Dr. Cathell is very knowledgeable and patient. He didn't just immediately treat the pain areas, he also gave me some exercises to make those areas feel better without the need for constant office visits. I will definitely be back!

I was highly pleased! Dr. Cathell is very professional and thorough in his evaluation and treatment. He put me at ease and explained the process in terms I could understand. His knowledge and variety of treatment and technique assured me I was receiving the best care possible. Dr. Cathell went on to explain home self care and other exercises to get me on the road to recovery. I truly feel he wants the best for me and my health.

Dr. Tom was great. I like his demeanor...professional, kind and friendly. He took his time and listened to my concerns. He determined and performed the best type of treatment for my condition and gave me suggestions for exercises and therapies to perform at home. I did feel noticeably better when I left the office.

I was always skeptical about visiting chiropractors. Doctor Cathell was the first one I have visited and I could not have recovered from my sports injury without him. He is a professional and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for relief.
