He was great the first time I got to see him and the first time he administered Gel shot to my knee. Never really got a straight answer what was going on with my knee, but he seemed like he knew his profession. After that it was Nurse Practitioner visits in his place and that was the end of that.

Dr. Thomas K. John is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in adult reconstruction and joint replacement. He is no stranger to New Jersey having received a Doctor of Medicine degree from New Jersey Medical School as part of a highly selective combined medical program. He went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery from the Albert Einstein Medical Center, one of the busiest trauma centers in Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
Dr. John specializes in primary, complex, and revision total knee and hip replacement surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive techniques, direct anterior and posterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, peri-prosthetic fractures, robotic and computer assisted surgery, and patient specific surgery. He believes in utilizing an evidence-based approach in creating customized treatment plans for each patient, optimizing the total joint experience. He employs non-operative and advanced surgical options, to treat his patient’s pain, discomfort, and orthopaedic disability.
Dr. John remains active in multiple professional societies including the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and state medical societies.
In addition, his research has been published and presented locally and nationally at multiple meetings. He looks forward to meeting you in person and discussing your options.

One of the danger's of reading reviews, is that they tend to color your own expectations, and in this case, the reality, while satisfactory, just wasn't to the level I had expected.
I'm not sure if Dr. John was just not having a good day, or perhaps that my case was not of the significance of others, but it was to me. And taking more than just a casual glance at the MRI I worked so hard to get for weeks, or actually physically manipulating the joint to make your own assessment, might have gone a long way in convincing me that I wasn't just another deposit in your bank account for the day.

Dr. John was very sincere and clear about what he offers and what is involved in a hip replacement. He is very obviously very experienced and knows what he is talking about. Since I am just consulting and have not had any other treatment/surgery with him, I cannot rate him in any other area.
The staff did seem very busy when I was there and I had a longer than average wait to see him - about 45 minutes.
Will review again, if I return for further work.

I met with Dr. Benke, and I extremely happy with my visit. The entire staff including Dr. Benke were polite, and thorough.
Dr. Benke took time to explain my conditions and showed me my x-rays. He answered my questions and made suggestions as to how I can work through those times when i am experiencing significant discomfort. He knew my wife is a patient of Dr. John and took time to ask how she was doing.

I got a call asking me to complete the forms in advance so I came prepared. Wait time was less than 5 minutes. Wish the parking area was clearly marked - I had to pay for parking in the hospital which was unexpected.

The visit went well. To the point and the solution Dr. John came up with worked well for my aching knee. My only criticism is that after filling out all papers on-line (very thorough paperwork) to save the time and trouble of doing it in the office, they received nothing and had me start from scratch as if I never filled anything out at all. Overall..good experience and I would highly recommend Dr. John although I feel they should straighten out this paper work glitch.
