Dr. Thomas Whiteneck is a Board Certified Family Practice Physician. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985. From the years of 1986-1989, Dr. Whiteneck was a General Medical Officer in the United States Air Force in Myrtle Beach, SC. He completed his residency in 1991 at Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale – Davie, FL. Dr. Whiteneck has a special interest in asthma, headaches, and osteopathic spinal manipulation.
Dr. Whiteneck is married with two children and resides in Duluth, GA. He is an avid sports fan and is proud of his sons’ achievements in football and soccer. Occasionally he will hit the links for a round of golf. Otherwise, Dr. Whiteneck likes to take his dog for walks and listen to a variety of music. Dr. Whiteneck joined Lawrenceville Family Practice in August 2010.

They had a lot of staff which I felt like was great in the sense that there wasn’t a long wait time because people were getting seen quickly, but that was also the problem. I never actually saw the doctor. I saw an assistant. When I went through the back room door, it smelled like cigarette smoke. Not what I would expect out of a doctors office. And the person that saw me barely took any vitals,asked me what was going on. I had a throat issue and she barely peaked down my throat and said oh it must be a sinus infection. I’ll get you up for all this medication and if that doesn’t work, I’ll have you come back and we will send you to an ENT.
I was in and out in 15 minutes. Did not feel like I was really taken care of or cared for. I felt like I was just another patient coming in and out. So now I am having to look for my own ENT which I was considering doing in the first place, so I have to pay this doctors office for nothing.

It didn’t feel welcoming and I don’t feel like my questions or complaints about my health were taking seriously. I didn’t even get a real exam. The doctor spent most of the time sitting in front of the computer. At one point the room door was left open for half the visit so if I wanted to talk about anything private I couldn’t. I was looking for a new PCP but this isn’t it. If you want a clinic like feel, then come here, if you want a real doctor/patient interaction then go somewhere else.

Dr. Whiteneck has always done an excellent job taking care of any issues or maladies I have had in the past. He is very attentive toward taking a thorough history, and I appreciate the time he spends discussing the issue with me. I am very grateful to the empathy and care he's give to me over the years.

I have had appointment at 5:30 pm ,I was there 5:05 pm then waited until 5:50 pm to get in the room ,after blood pressure check then waited again until 6:30 to see doctor . I was out there at 7:00pm .I don not like the way they treated me like that . Maybe I will looking for a new family doctor in future !
