Dr. Tina B. West, founder of the West Institute, is a board-certified Dermatologist and leading expert in cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery and body contouring procedures.
With her “Skip the Scalpel” philosophy, Dr. West utilizes the most advanced minimally invasive technology to maintain the health and appearance of the skin of the face and body in women and men for life.
Dr. West has served as a consultant and injectable trainer for Allergan and Galderma, training other physicians in advanced treatment techniques using Restylane, Perlane, Scupltra and Dysport as well as Botox. She participated in the original phase III FDA clinical trials for the approval of Botox Cosmetic. Most recently, The West Institute and Dr. West have been designated as National Trainers for Kybella, the new non-surgical treatment for double chin. Dr. West also specializes in Cellulaze laser treatment, the first FDA-approved procedure to significantly improve the appearance of cellulite.
An accomplished lecturer and author, Dr. West has been published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on a variety of topics, including laser skin resurfacing for the treatment of aging and acne scarring, as well as other non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. West has also been featured in Cosmopolitan, Men’s Fitness, Glamour, Washingtonian, Washingtonian Mom and other national publications.
Dr. West has been in practice since 1996 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is a repeat recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award, a national award bestowed upon physicians based on their patients’ appreciation and praise for the quality of care and service
