Dr. Koji Ota is a board-certified dermatologist who emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care. Dr. Ota also has advanced training in dermoscopic evaluation of moles and melanoma and completed a dermatology research fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College, focusing on melanocyte biology.
Dr. Ota completed a dual-specialty dermatology and internal medicine residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Through his residency training, he has extensive experience treating complex dermatologic disorders in adult patients as well as pediatric patients at Children’s National Hospital National Medical Center. He graduated from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from New York University Stern School of Business.
Dr. Ota is a published author in several medical peer-reviewed journals, and he holds membership to the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr Ota is everything you want in a physician. He's professional, kind, and thorough without being histrionic. He listens well and knows his stuff.
I have a complicated medical situation and a history of somewhat sneaky skin cancers. When my long time trusted dermatologist retired, I was nervous about seeing another provider. And I couldn't be happier to be Dr. Ota's patient.
