Nice office, Dr. Helfman seems professional and answered all my questions and concerns.
To the point of integration with Zocdoc - it's nice to have an ability to schedule appointments, but it would be even better if the office would actually use patient information already filled in Zocdoc instead of making me fill it by hand again in the office.
Would save both my time, make the office more efficient and save some trees on the way.

The doctor and his staff were better than awesome. The wait was a bit longer than I expected but it was within half an hour of the scheduled time. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone.

Before founding the Charlotte Skin Institute, Dr. Todd Helfman gained his Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate degree from Cornell University, after which he attended St. Louis University Medical School and Brown University (for an internal medicine internship). He then completed a Dermatology Residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Helfman has been board certified in dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology since finishing his residency in 1997.
Dr Helfman has been practicing in the Charlotte area since 1999. He and his staff have earned praise for their caring and compassionate manner and the outstanding quality of treatment received.

This review is based on my first visit with Dr. Helfman. At first, I was a little upset because unfortunately I do not depend on my own transportation because I do not drive, however, my husband tried everything in his power to try to finish work early (even skipping lunch and breaks) to try to get me to this appointment. But upon calling the office to make them aware that we were going to be about 10 minutes late due to the traffic rush hours, the receptionist who answered just offered me to rescheduled my appointment and did not understand my situation. I asked to speak to Gloria the manager (who had kindly helped me earlier) and I told her what was going on, and she kindly once again accommodate me to a later appointment so I wouldn't feel rush. I was very please with her customer service because I understand that doctors have a business that depends highly on their patients to arrive on time (since I also do work for a doctor's office) However, it is also non-profitable to send the patients away in which these business depend on without trying to help them and accomodate them. Especially, when there was an option to bring me in later! So this was not at all good customer service but what Gloria did makes up for it because she immediately fixed the situation and understood I was a patient in need to see her doctor. Teresa, was also very nice! Upon turning in my paperwork she immediately called me and was very kind. So I was extremely pleased with the short wait time and her kindness. Which I must also include that the receptionist who had send me away earlier was also very kind and quick to try to get me in, and this is why I am giving a 5 stars to customer service. When Dr. Helfman arrived he made me feel better because I was nervous. But he was thorough and explained the conditions that I may seem to have but did not want to conclude to anything until he would received the lab results to make sure he was accurate and cross out any other possibilities...which I was amazed because it seem as if he really knows what he is talking about but still takes the time to investigate further before deciding to start treatment. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! For being thorough, cautious and for explaining everything to me in a way that I could understand!!! For now, I highly recommend Dr. Helfman and his staff for great patient and customer service!!! I might put a second review after my second or third visit. We'll see. And I hope this was helpful to you all! :-)

Dr. Helfman definitely knows what he is talking about, but he made me uncomfortable. He never let me finish asking questions and the appointment felt very rushed. He never really explained what was happening. I must say, I did like that he removed moles in the same visit, instead of making me come back. The receptionist could be a little more nicer, but overall, the visit went okay.

The doctor was professional; however, the older caucasian woman at the front desk was not welcoming at all!!!. When we walked into the office she looked back at her co-worker and then stared at us. It was very akward and made us feel uncomfortable. I said good morning and she never responded. Then when she finally spoke to me it was very short and still not welcoming. Very disheartening, especially on MLK day. Not a good feeling at all.

Fast and uncomplicated appointment! He was attentive, but kept it moving and to the point. Great! Removed a mole on the same visit, which is great considering I called other offices that wanted to do two visits (one to look and then a second to remove).

I'm so glad I chose Dr. Helfman. He's a great dermatologist, caring and to the point. I had a great experience and he has an amazing team. I would recommend this office to friends and family. Wait time? As soon as you get comfortable they will be calling your name. TWO THUMBS UP!!

I was again disappointed that he wouldn't let me finish my sentences. He was also rude to his assistant, who wanted to show him that I had brought a complete listing of all my meds with dosages which was on the next page, but he grabbed the chart from her hands and wouldn't let her show him. At the end of the visit after he had left the room, she apologized for his rudeness. I'll go back because I need the results of the biopsy he did and need to have the suture removed, but I'm not certain I will be back after that.

Couldn't have asked for anything better...friendly staff, Doctor was kind, knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Appointment was within five minutes of set time...even with new client paperwork. (I arrived 10 mins early). Office was comfortable and clean. I found ZocDoc to be very easy and helpful booking a new doctor as well. :)
