About Dr. Kara Brooks
Dr Brooks is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, and treats all ages. Dr Brooks is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, having been nominated by her peers for excellency in physicianship, leadership, professionalism, scholastic achievement, and service.
Dr Brooks grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, then earned her Bachelor of Arts in Cellular Neuroscience at Colgate University in upstate New York. She returned for medical school at the University of Hawaii. She then completed her training at the University of North Carolina, doing an internship in Internal Medicine, and Residency in Dermatology. Dr Brooks worked in private practice in Raleigh for four years before joining Pinnacle Dermatology at their new Charlotte offices. She is excited to continue to offer quality medical care to her patients. Dr Brooks enjoys spending time with her husband and their two kids.

Dr. Brooks and all the staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful. This was my first ever, full -body skin cancer check, and I felt that Dr. Brooks was thorough with the exam and explained everything to me during the process.

The doctor was a good listener. She showed genuine interest, compassion and concern for me as her patient. As a result, I was very comfortable talking with her. It wasn’t to much of a surprise that she acknowledged the value of my time by apologizing for the length of
time I had to wait. I really did appreciate that because sometimes it seems as if a lot of doctors don’t think that patients ‘ times are important too.

Dr. Brooks and her staff are great. The office staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Dr. Brooks obviously loves what she does and her patients, she makes sure all your concerns are addressed and assures, when there are serious issues, that she can takes care of them immediately. Both my husband and I had wonderful experiences Pinnacle Dermatology. The entire staff we're terrific and made us feel relaxed and welcomed. Dr. Brooks was completely awesome and took care of both of our needs including surgery I my husband's shoulder. There are no words to describe just how amazing dr. Brooks is and I highly recommend her to anyone that needs excellent dermatologist
