About Dr. Uma Gopakumar
Dr. Uma Gopakumar is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a doctorate in Family Practice . She is dedicated to walking alongside her patients as a trusted partner in their health journey. She is passionate about teaching and utilizing a preventative, holistic approach with her patients. Uma Gopakumar enjoys caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds, as well as building relationships with families. Her goal is to help patients live healthy and fulfilling lives. With belief in treating the 'whole person', Dr Gopakumar considers both the physical and emotional health of her patients, in a preventive approach to health care. She is a strong advocate of people taking an active role in their care, partnering with patients to build healthy lifestyles in order to prevent disease, and manage their chronic conditions.
Uma, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (2010) and Masters in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from the Grand Canyon University in 2013 . She further went on and earned the highest level of professional achievement with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Family Practice from Arizona State University in 2017.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gopakumar has shared her passion for healthcare as an adjunct faculty and subject matter expert at Colorado State University, mentoring the next generation of nurses. She is also devoted to improving community wellness through her involvement in health initiatives that extend care beyond the clinic walls.
When away from her clinic, she likes to spend time with her family. Reading, and trying new restaurants are a passion, along with hiking, cycling, and traveling the world with friends and family.

On zoc doc it said NP- dermatology consult. When I got on she said she would refer me to a dermatologist. What’s the point in zoc doc listing her as derm specialty. Waste of time when I could have gone to another dr.

The patient teli-visit over the phone was most helpful and convenient. I was very sick on a Saturday and the ease of a phone visit was productive & wonderful. In all my years of going to different providers, I have never felt so entrusting towards a provider than I have with Uma. After years of trying to get a proper diagnosis, Uma was able to diagnose my symptoms after one visit. She is professional, compassionate, and thorough. Uma makes you feel comfortable and takes her time in speaking with you. I felt like she cared for my health as much as I did which is rare to find in providers these days. I am forever grateful.

I’m so happy that I get to see Dr. Uma GopakumarI again as my PCP. I was bummed out when I heard she left my doctor’s office, but now I’m glad she has started her own. She is one of the few doctors who cares about your whole entire health, and not just your symptoms. She makes time for questions and takes my concerns seriously.
