Dr. Weinstein started Ashley River OBGYN, P.C., which has been at its present location since 1990.
He attended Brown University and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. His residency in OB/GYN was completed at the Albert Einstein affiliated hospitals in the Bronx, NY. He is Board-certified in OB/GYN.
Since coming to Charleston, he has practiced general OB/GYN and has established expertise in Vaginal and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, including urinary incontinence. In addition, he did the first Laparoscopic hysterectomy at Roper Hospital in 1991 and continues to do many minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Weinstein has served in executive capacity at both Roper Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, having been both Chairman and Assistant Chairman of the OB/GYN Departments. He is currently Chairman of the OB/GYN Department at St. Francis. He has been voted one of the Best Doctors in America for OB/GYN since 1996, and recently in Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery as well.
When not enjoying time with his patients, he can generally be found running, fishing, or hanging out on the dock, and spending time with his family.
