Viet Nguyen is a concerned and mindful primary care doctor serving the community of Falls Church, VA. Dr. Nguyen obtained his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. He also completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida and an Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami.
Dr. Nguyen is the Medical Director of Fairfax Clinic. He is a member of the American College of Physicians. In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Nguyen is a preceptor and instructor for third and fourth year medical students at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine and George Washington University (GWU) School of Medicine.
He received the ACOFP Family Medicine Award in 2006, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association 1st Year Student Award in 2005, and the Cancer Research Training Award at the National Cancer Institute in 2002.
Dr. Nguyen gives each patient his focused attention and care. He prides himself on developing a comprehensive differential diagnosis and delivering the best treatment available. He believes in listening to each patient and creating a partnership to maintain and improve lifelong health.

The staff were really nice. Not very professional, though.He didn't have much beside manner. He actually made me feel a bit awkward because he wouldn't look me in the eye and there were long pauses at random intervals.
He gave me a mail order prescription, which is going to take a lot longer than a regular one, and it came with a flyer. It made me feel like he was only doing it to get paid.

Professional atmosphere, timely care and thorough medical evaluation. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt like my health needs were well taken care of. Hopefully, I won't have to need a Dr. often, but when I do Dr. Viet wil be my go-to!

I don’t recommend, but here’s a fair review.
Appointment:
Really easy to get an appointment and reschedule. Everyone was nice and I didn’t wait too long.
Follow-up/results:
I appreciated that the doctor called to share my lab results after my physical. They also mailed the results to me directly, which is amazing. But, he recommended I make a change in my diet based on lab results, but wouldn’t listen as I explained that those items weren’t a part of my diet for years. It was really unhelpful, frustrating, and I still don’t know what to do to address that lab result.
Billing:
This was and still is a nightmare. The lab did not bill my insurance and billed me directly—twice. When I called, the person I spoke with was not helpful and suggested I was at fault. Eventually, I spoke with the doctor, who realized there was a mistake on the lab’s part because they didn’t process my insurance info. He assured me he handled it and spoke with the lab to prevent it from happening again, which was thoughtful. A month later, I received another bill for the same amount—and no attempt to charge insurance. The lab company said they never received anything from the doctor’s office. I had to handle everything myself, which took hours. Still waiting to see if this is resolved.
Hopefully, you will have a better experience than me or will save yourself the hassle and find another doctor.

I don't think I've ever been to a less professional medical office. The doctor seemed to be thinking of something else the entire time I was there. He failed to properly dispose of a used sharp and managed to drop it, exposed, on the ground. They even sent me home with a form to submit to the DMV with another patient's name on it. To top it all off, they charged me outrageous rates for simply telling me to go to a specialist. I'd only go here if it were my only option and even then maybe not.

My first visit at Dr. Nguyen's office. The awaiting time was a bit long (30 minutes after signing in). The check-in questionnaire that I completed prior to the visit did not seem to be transferred to the office. So the time was doubled when I was asked to complete the same questionnaire twice in the office.
Pleasant experience with the front desk staff (generally horrible in many other medical practices). Dr. Nguyen displayed great professionalism and bedside manner. Unlike other GPs I've encountered, he has been good trying to take time for his patients and being personable during the exam. Highly recommended!

Dr. Nguyen is phenomenal. He is exactly the type of doctor that I was looking for! He is VERY knowledgeable and thorough. I read that he teaches at a local university; he took his time explaining to me and to his "nurse" the importance of addressing various symptoms and issues that I was having. He is very patient and actively listens to everything that I wanted to address without rushing in and out like nearly every other doctor I've ever seen.
His staff is very friendly. Although the office is small, there is still adequate space and time for the doctor to see everyone. I highly suggest making an appointment. It is a clinic, so walk-ins will have to wait a while.
I live in MD and drive all the way to Falls Church to see him, because of his professionalism and attentiveness. I recommend Dr. Nguyen to everyone.
