Dr. Desai received his Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from Pennsylvania State University and went on to be awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. His training continued with a residency in ophthalmology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
Dr. Desai is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds licenses in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. He is a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at Washington National Eye Center, Washington Hospital Center and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Center for Sight, Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is affiliated with Suburban Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Desai is a member of five professional associations, societies, and organizations.
