“This appointment was interesting. I was seen by an exceptionally professional and friendly Board Certified Optometrist who was assisted by a skilled and competent staff of technicians and front officice. However, the Optomologist which I booked the appointment to see, saw me via Zoom for 3 minutes while the Optometrist brifed him on my exam and visit. I found the Zoom interaction between the three of us polite and comfortable, but I could not shake the feeling of " what a smoothe billing hustle",”

All eye testings shall be done in clinic on appointment day at 8650 Georgia Ave, Silver spring MD 20910. Dr Parsons shall meet you on our secure in-office screen and review your testings and exams.
Michael Parsons, M.D. has 10+ years experience as a United States Air Force Ophthalmologist, and has performed over 6,000 ophthalmic procedures. He has treated at Lackland Air Force Base (San Antonio, TX) and Wright Patterson Air Force Base (Dayton, OH), and his “20/20 vision or better” outcomes have been consistently better than 95%! This has resulted in service members literally traveling from both around the country and around the world to have their treatments done with him. During his deployment to Afghanistan, Dr. Parsons performed over 50 traumatic/humanitarian eye surgeries and was a member of the President of the United States contingency surgical team for his 2014 visit.
Dr. Parsons loves spending time with his wife and two children and in his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, wrestling, jiu jitsu and has been a professional MMA gym owner, cornerman and trainer.

Office works on a teledoc system, meaning MD was virtual with tests done in office with PA/ techs. My focus was on dry eyes, and wished for a tear duct plug which was not possible due to this system.
I had other eye medicine offices with a similar system, but this one felt impersonal. MD video chatted while in the car- unsure if it was while driving or parked. As a health care provider myself, I was appalled and speechless by that behavior (I would never do that in my own practice, as it is unprofessional). In addition, I saw the MD/ PA prior to finishing the tests, and I had no feedback on the test results. When I asked the tech about this, I was told “it is just for documentation,” which, again, is very unprofessional and borderline fraudulent (from an insurance and note standpoint). Prior to this encounter, I waited over an hour in the office, the office staff, PA, and tech were nice, but appeared overwhelmed.
And, alas, my dry eyes were not addressed.
I will not be returning.

I will never go back to this office. They have an actual permanent sign stating that your appointment will take no less the 1.5 to 2 hours. I thought this meant there would be several tests. After waiting for an hour, and asked if this sign meant “wait time” and they said yes. No apologies or explanation. I left without being seen. AND the doctor is made the appointment with wasn’t even a doctor at this office. No thanks.
