Vincent Johnson is triple-certified in pain medicine, hospice and palliative care, and anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is an intelligent and highly capable pain management specialist whose clinical interests include neck and back pain, failed back surgery, headache, cancer pain, and palliative care. Because of his evidence-based, comprehensive approach to pain management, Dr. Johnson incorporates interventional therapy, physical therapy, and psychologic counseling in his treatment plans.
Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and accomplished his residency training in anesthesiology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Before his advanced training in anesthesia and pain management, Dr. Johnson served his country honorably for three years in the United States Air Force as a general practice physician. He relocated to Kansas City, his hometown, in 1992 after his Air Force tour of duty.
Dr. Johnson’s medical career is punctuated by many remarkable academic contributions to the discipline of pain management. He has published prolifically in multiple peer-reviewed journals, co-authored a textbook called Clinical Anesthesia Practice, and serves as a contributing author to the written exam of the Pain Management Board. Dr. Johnson, who has been married for over 30 years, enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
