Our office accommodate same day appointment request. Please call office for availability. Dr. Wai Ping Chan is a trusted and reputable dermatologist caring for the Flushing, NY community. Dr. Chan obtained her medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in family practice at Long Beach Medical Center and residency in advanced desert dermatology at Midwestern University. She also completed her internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Plainview Hospital.
Dr. Chan is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She speaks English, Chinese (Mandarin), and Chinese (Cantonese), which makes her accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

I waited less than 20 mins to be seen. Dr. Chan did introduce herself which I feel alot of doctors forget to do. As someone previously stated in another review, she ask me to take off my pants. Which I get she is a skin docotor and have to check entire body even though my complaints were my arms and back. I had to ask for a gown which I feel should be common courtesy. She did ask if I wanted them to leave the room and I said it was okay.. She was informative on what could be causing my itching. Hopefully the cream works.

I went to her because the reviews were good but she wasn’t helpful and seemed condescending. She didn’t bother explaining anything and her assistant was in the room the whole time. The receptionists were really nice and did their jobs well. However, she doesn’t seem like she cares about her patients and what they want. Also, didn’t bother showing me other options out there for my skin.

My visit was weird. I was shocked that she asked me to take my pants off right in front of her assistant without offering a gown or even stepping aside so that I could do so comfortably. Very poor bedside manner. I felt very uncomfortable. She was however, informative. But I wasn't sure that she should be checking my entire body when I only came in for an issue on my shoulder. And she didn't go out of her way to make me feel at ease.

Dr. Chan is fantastic, I came to her with hormonal acne and after being frustrated with other dermatologist not taking me seriously it was honestly really refreshing to have Dr. Chan understand and genuinely want to help me clear up my skin. I’ve been seeing her for almost a year now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made, and now for the first time ever my acne is almost cleared! Seriously she’s the best! Thanks Dr. Chan for making helping me feel amazing in my own skin!

Really informative visit. She was patient to listen to my long medical history with Acne. She seems very interested in providing me with the care I needed and tells me which meds are covered by my insurance.
