I’m definitely going to be seeing Dr Newman as my new Primary physician. He listened to my concerns and was very proactive in getting me set up with a rheumatoid and pain specialist which I have already done. It was also very comforting to me that so had worked with physicians that I had worked with at Valley Medical Center. Looking for to having him on my medical team.

Night and day from dealing with negligent the Kaiser Permanente system to seeing Dr. Newman. I paid a very reasonable fee to visit a knowledgeable, intelligent doctor and I'm very glad I did. Dr. Newman gave me the second opinion I needed regarding a diagnosis, treatment plan and medication. After a Kaiser primary care doctor landed me in ER and nearly killed me twice (not exaggerating) by refusing to listen or give me proper care/referrals to specialists in a timely manner, I don't trust the Kaiser and now do my own research, including talking to experienced professionals. I highly recommend Dr. Newman and felt such huge relief leaving his office, knowing I had the right advice. This is the way medical care should be done.

The Newman Medical Group is the Family Practice of Walter Newman, M.D., located in San Jose, California. Our practice provides individualized care to our patients in a family friendly, warm environment.
We offer IN PERSON and TELEMEDICINE appointments. We also encourage our patients to live within two hours of San Jose to facilitate periodic well visits and urgent appointments.
Dr. Walter S. Newman has practiced Family Medicine in San Jose since 1980. Dr. Newman is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco, and teaches regularly at Stanford University. The majority of our hospital referrals are to Good Samaritan and Stanford University Medical Center.
Dr. Newman is a fifth generation Californian; his great-grandfather founded the town of Newman, California due west of San Jose. In his spare time Dr. Newman enjoys the performing arts, gourmet dining and volunteering in community service.

The receptionist was very kind, she processed my paper work quickly and I felt welcomed. My wait time to see the doctor was minimal in fact I was escorted to an exam room promptly upon my arrival. The doctor and his assistant checked me thoroughly and I know that this Doctor is very knowledgeable in all the various issues I have going on with my body, so I know that I am good hands. Was very glad to be accepted as one of his new patients.

Excellent experience. The doctor asked questions related to my condition as well as possible symptoms that one would likely start to feel at my age. I have never felt more comfortable with ANY other doctor and this was my first time visiting Dr. Newman. I would also like to add the the doctors office was extremely clean and neat, plenty of parking and easy to find.

Dr. Newman is a very attentive and engaging doctor. He spoke Mandarin to connect with my 89-year old dad and it made him feel welcomed. He is a teaching physician so there were two NP students who were helping to attend to my dad. He is observant and quick to correct the students when needed. Being a new patient, we came with a long list of issues, but Dr. Newman said to "keep it simple", focus on the most important issue, and then do follow ups in a few weeks. He also gave us referrals to reputable urologists. We decided to get labs done to get the latest stats, and right after the lab results were done, his office called me to set up a follow up appointment to review the results. Wow! I appreciate his follow up and expediency. My dad is hard of hearing, and generally people get impatient with him, but not Dr. Newman and his staff, they were very caring. Dr. Newman is physically-handicapped, but his mind is still sharp and intelligent.

Dr. Newman captures every tiny findings when those findings could post big risk to patient. His analysis is with depth and extend into future for the impact on patient. His decision shows he takes patient's health as first priority. He is indeed the best and the greatest doctor I have ever met.

Chelsea, the receptionist was such a great help. She was clear, communicative, and even answered the many questions I had about my insurance (which they didn't accept, but I went to this clinic anyways because they were so helpful and clear). They were open and honest about what my visit would cost, and were overall just so incredibly helpful. What i liked most about this clinic and doctor is that he was with students who were observing and learning. This tells me that Dr. Newman loves what he does and wants to share that with future health professionals! We had fun conversations and he took in so much interest into what I was doing, my hobbies, and future plans. I felt very comfortable. Best visit i've ever had with a doctor!!

My appointment was rescheduled twice, and under normal circumstance is understandable given this practice only has one doctor.
It became less tolerable when I was asked to arrive 10-minute earlier, and then waited 40 minute before I got to speak to Dr. Newman. I could not tell what was going on, and offer no explanation or apologies, simply asked to wait.
It then just became unacceptable when he proceeded to be curt, impatient and making comments about his time. He wanted me to hurry up because he doesn't get paid by the hour "like an attorney"!
For me, this is unacceptable and I cannot recommend Dr. Newman.

They did not bother to read the info I gave them when I filled out thier on line forms. When I sat down with the dr he finally looked at them. He told me my situation was more than he was comfortable with . I liked his honesty but we wasted both of our time by them not having read my info before I got there. He seemed like a nice person. Would I recomend him? Not really sure. Well time to look for someone who feels comfortable with my situation.
