Dr. Charles “Wes” Clements, M.D. is a board-certified family medicine physician. He wants to help his patients by listening to their health goals and then providing evidence-based information to help them be successful. He knows that staying healthy is easy once his patients have the right information and an accessible doctor. In addition to his primary care practice, Dr. Wes is very interested in weight loss and bariatric medicine. During his residency, he focused on obesity treatment where he would discuss weight loss evaluation and treatment options with his patients. Dr. Wes has prescribed the keto diet to many of his patients who are looking to lose weight. He has treated many patients who follow Paleo diets, as well. He understands that these are not the only ways to lose weight, but are effective for some people. He has summited the highest peaks in Europe, South America, and Africa in addition to numerous ascents in the Sierra Nevadas and the Rocky Mountains. When he’s not mountaineering, he is an avid cyclist who has completed multiple cross-country tours. He has been focusing on powerlifting for the last ten years and has competed in two USAPL meets. In college, he worked as a ski patroller at a local mountain resort, which ultimately led to his interest in medicine. He graduated from medical school at Marshall University and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Virginia.
