It was the shortest doctor's visit I've ever had. It was my annual, so I didn't have a reason to want to be seen for more, but there was some confusion with the front desk about what/if I had to pay anything, something I had already clarified on the phone previously with the doctor, so I didn't like having to argue with the staff about their idea that I had to pay for a visit, which I was covered fully by my insurance (and the doctor had already told me so!).
The person who saw my, I assume a nurse, was friendly and made me feel comfortable, on the other hand, people were coming in and out of the office where I was being examined, with little care about HIPPA and privacy matters. The facility is not very clean, as in, when you go to the bathroom so you can give them a sample, you have to be very careful where you touch/stand. It was a busy day, but I would certainly have liked the environment to be more inviting/hygienic, it is a doctor's office.

The staff was great and friendly! Both the nurse and Dr Yin Sun was very nice and made me feel comfortable while doing my annual physical. She made sure I knew how to perform breast checkup on myself. The only thing I would say is that their office decor/lighting/interior needs a bit of a facelift. Perhaps a bit dusty too? I guess I wouldn't mind sacrificing as I was called in no longer then 10 minutes!

No one knew what to do with me. When I showed them my infection they looked at me confused as to what do I want from them.

I felt rushed, judged, and uncomfortable. Not three things one usually looks for when visiting the gynecologist.

I would go here for exams that don't include any internal probes. I was there for pap smear and the PA who prepped me left the speculum laying on the desk next to the phone. Granted it was wrapped in plastic but it was like getting an exam in the office of a bad temp job where no cleaning staff had been in months. The doctor is super knowledgeable when it comes to internal medicine, her speciality, which I appreciated, but I was genuinely surprised I didn't get an infection after my pap.

I read reviews of many patients before going here, since I was a bit wary of visiting a doctor in Chinatown (not sure if they'd speak English etc). The reviews were encouraging, so I went. I would not recommend English-speakers go here. The nurse who took my blood pressure/medical history didn't understand the word "ulcer". She started to write down "OC" under surgery, and I was merely trying to explain I had a history of stomach ulcers. This kind of miscommunication could be extremely dangerous - if I had not been watching her write down and insisted she correct it, they would have thought I had a history of surgery when I don't.
Then the doctor came in. She was also difficult to communicate with. She didn't explain to me what illness I had; instead, she prescribed 5 medications, but didn't explain what they were for until I asked. Turns out that 3 were just to control symptoms, and she kept asking me how many pills I wanted! Isn't it the doctor's job to recommend such things?
Don't go here.

I highly recommend Dr Yin Sun! She is an amazing, altruistic, professional and patient-oriented doctor. It was my first visit and the office had already printed out my online check-in form from zocdoc prior to my visit. The nurses are very knowledgeable and efficient as well, especially the front desk guy who is very proactive, which make the process very smooth and quick. The nurse who drew my blood is very skillful, polite and informative.
I am utterly surprised with the facilities at Dr. Yin Sun's office, in which allows my check ups to be very convenient, instead of having to run around different offices to get different body scans, ekg etc.
The doctor also provides prep-smears and hormonal check ups for woman. This saves me trips going to my OBGYN check ups and regular body check ups.
Once again, Dr. Yin Sun is very patient-oriented and willing to spend time to explain your health issues in great details, as well as providing current advance methods that would benefit you the most. Thumbs up!

My visit to Dr. Sun was very very pleasant and she was very accommodating. Her entire office staff were very nice, and you can see they cater to the Chinese population as they were situated in Chinatown. Her availability was great because I spent two weeks trying to find a doctor who would take me, and several phone calls later and finally, ZocDoc, I got a same day appointment.
The purpose of my appointment was very simple, just a refill on birth control, but she was pleasant, accommodating and advised me on further appointments to check up on liver/kidney functions. She is the only doctor I've had to clarify the risks of bc! Additionally, she was was thorough and did an exam with breast cancer check, etc. I would recommend her to anyone new to the city, especially Chinese people. At the end, she gave me a referral to an optometrist to get my prescription updated, which was very helpful!
Thanks for your help, Dr. Sun!
