Dr. Yingheng Liu is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She earned her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY with a Distinction in Clinical Research and her PhD from the University of South Dakota. Dr. Liu completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York University Langone Health, followed by fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Morningside and West.
Dr. Liu focuses on colon cancer screening and prevention, esophageal disease, peptic ulcer disease, IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), and liver disease (hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis). She has a particular interest in gastrointestinal health for women such as screening for gastrointestinal cancers, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), abdominal bloating, IBS, fecal incontinence, and constipation. Dr. Liu also has a strong interest in quality improvement in colorectal cancer screening.
Dr. Liu performs upper endoscopy with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for strictures, BRAVO placement for pH monitoring, esophageal variceal banding, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy/feeding tube placement, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and capsule endoscopy. She is also trained in interpretation of esophageal high resolution manometry and anorectal manometry.
Dr. Liu prides herself in providing quality, compassionate and individualized expert care for each of her patients. To better serve her patients, Dr. Liu is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
