I have been to a lot of doctors and Yusuf Mamdani is by far the best. He has never pushed medication on me. He has discussed nutrition and wellness with me and is knowledgeable of Endometriosis. Each time I've been in for an appointment he's take extra time to educate me AND listen to my own experiences with the Endo. 10/10.

Dr. Yusuf Mamdani is a compassionate, attentive OB-GYN treating patients in New York City and the surrounding areas. His primary goal as a practitioner is to make sure each of his patients is treated well and receives the care they need. He operates under the motto, “treating patients with patience,” and makes sure to spend enough time with his patients to understand their concerns.
Originally from India, Dr. Mamdani attended Municipal Medical College in Gujarat in order to pursue his medical degree. He continued his medical education at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center. He keeps his practice up-to-date by attending OB-GYN seminars in the city.
Patients visiting Dr. Mamdani can receive a full range of obstetric and gynecological care. He provides general consultations and annual gynecological examinations, as well as osteoporosis evaluations, contraception, and treatment for sexual dysfunction. Surgical procedures available include ovarian cystectomies, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, and cone biopsies to treat cervical cancer and pre-cancer cells. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Mamdani enjoys reading, following current events, and spending time with his wife and children.

It was a pretty busy day so it makes sense that the wait was long, but everyone was so warm and friendly it really made up for it. Dr. Mamdani was very quick. Along with my annual I wanted to remove my IUD and the entire exam was done in less than 10 minutes. He speaks to you in his office afterwards and that makes all the difference! I cant believe I used to go to doctors that spoke to me while I was still in the gown smh.
He took the time to answer all of my questions, scheduled me for a followup to ensure all was going well. Overall, I had a fantastic experience.
One takeaway - the staff can be pretty informal. I love that, it made me feel at ease and comfortable, but I know not everyone does. Just a note!

Dr Mamdani is a great doctor - he is not only professional but also takes time to answer any questions and to educate his patients. He is very reassuring - I first met him at Mt Sinai Queens when I was admitted for an ovary infection. He took time to explain to me what was happening, all the procedures and scans he ordered and why he did so. At my follow up appointment in the clinic, it was my first pap smear and he was assuring and gentle. The staff in his clinic are also very patient and reassuring so it helps with any anxiety.

1. My appointment was changed by the doctor's office staff for an earlier time. He was 45 min late.
2. the doctor enters the room doesn't acknowledge me, quickly begins to examine me.
3. The nurse in the room lets the doctor know that I would like to consult with him(I am still in the room), he responds "for what?".
4. When I get the chance to ask a question he rushes the interaction, leaving me with no answers to my questions.
5. Office is not up to date, supplies are not up to date.

Seems like he has been practicing for quite some time. Old looking office. Staff wasn't that welcoming Dr. examined me for probably 5 minutes. Worse part was when blood was drawn nurse did not put on gloves.

The visit was fairly prompt as I was there only for birth control. He does have a very thick accent and isn't the 'gentlest' to put it kindly. He will not be my regular doctor but I need something quickly I could go to him.

The doctor himself is a very nice man, and he was gentle and caring, but he diagnosed me with an infection that he brushed off like nothing and gave me no details about, meanwhile it's actually a pretty serious situation.
The receptionists and assitants are IDIOTS. The first time I went here, the nurse called me in, asked me to pee in a cup, then when I came back, she had taken another patient in the room and told me to sit in the waiting room WITH THE PEE IN MY HAND!!! AND my bag and jacket with my money and all personal items in that room, for over a half an hour. Not one apology from that dunce.
They also didn't send my prescription, and when I went back complaining, they promised they'd send it out first thing in the morning, and didn't.
My pharmacy ended up calling and it turned out they sent it to a local pharnacy that has been closed for over ten years.

The Doctor.
I have only had one appointment with Dr. Mamdani and I do not recommend him. He is unprofessional and condescending. He should reflect on his bedside manner and try to (at least) sound more understanding and concerned. He should also work on providing more care information with the patient such as discussing what he is prescribing and why and if there is a problem, what precautions the patient should take in the future. Providing information to the patients from his deep well of intelligence would help the patients to take better care of themselves. Repeatedly saying, "You should take better care of yourself. You don't take good care of yourself" does nothing constructive.
The Office
Always ask for a physical prescription!
At the end of our appointment, he said that I needed my medication right away and that he would electronically send it to the pharmacy. However, the prescription was never sent that day even though I called the office twice to ask them about its status.
I wasn't able to get the medicine because it was never sent it to the pharmacy. The conditioned worsened the next day and I went to the emergency room.
Two days later, I called Dr. Mamdani's office and explained everything that had happened. The person on the phone didn't apologize or explain what may have happened - she acted as if everything was OK and asked if I wanted them to sent the prescription to the pharmacy. Really??
This was my first and last time seeing him and it was a completely unnecessary visit because I didn't receive any help from him at all.

The worst GYN experience I have ever had. Although the staff was nice, they were not professional, except the very sweet Caribbean nurse. The door was not closed when my personal information was taken and the doctor screamed out past medical history in his office. His accent is very thick so it was difficult to comprehend him and his overall demeanor was not very welcoming. While performing my check-up, the doctor was not gentle and was in and out within a second. My old GYN was the best--sadly, change in insurance won't let me see her at a reasonable cost but the differences in doctors is vast!! This was my first time with a male GYN and it was unfortunately the worst experience I had at ANY doctor's office. I will be going elsewhere.

Super rushed service! Always had feeling that I had to get out quickly, for him to take next patient. Very uncomfortable… Once had ultrasound done and I swear I have never been humiliated in my life by someone, person who was hired to do that was a disrespectful, with no bedside manners and just horrible hong woman. Never have done such thing, but I would sue them, if I just had time.
