Hey!
I’m Ahimsa Luciano, a therapist practicing in Westchester, NY, and offering online therapy to the NY CITY area and all of NYS.
I love working with young adults in college/grad school, or new professionals who may feel slightly overwhelmed or excited, but facing scenarios that are not quite what they were expecting on a daily basis.
Change is hard, even when it’s exactly what you thought you wanted. Working with clients who may be feeling unsatisfied or stuck, is one of my specialities. Sometimes a client may simply want a safe and objective space that is solely their own for regular check-ins on their lives.
I work with each client and support them as they begin to explore symptoms and issues related to anxiety and depression. Some of these issues may be related to trauma, relationships of all kinds, childhood emotional neglect, life transitions, career stress or indecisiveness, perfectionism and self esteem issues.
Working together, we begin to bring awareness to your thoughts and beliefs. Then create challenges for those symptoms this should bring you a better sense and feeling of control and a decrease in your distress and symptoms.
It is important to me that you are set up for success every time you leave a session. I don’t expect you to change overnight, and hope you won’t either! You are the one who has to do the work, and I firmly believe that when you are committed, you're capable of making the necessary lifestyle adjustments that ultimately result in a greater quality of life.
