Hi there, I'm Alexandra!
Hi! I am Ali, a Licensed Mental Health, and Marriage and Family Therapist! I am extremely passionate about helping people work through challenges, meet goals and grow.
My approach
I use a client-centered approach, as I believe that YOU are the expert in your own life. I will work with you collaboratively to obtain goals and make the changes that you are striving for.
My focus
I have worked with individuals, both adults and adolescents, couples, and families in areas such as eating disorders, substance use, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and transitions.
My communication style
I want to create a safe space for my clients and do my best to do that. Sometimes a safe space may look like a place where we can just sit and "be" and other days it may look like allowing my clients to vent and let their emotions out. Whatever my client may need, I try to provide that for them.
My journey to therapy
The road to becoming a therapist was not quick or a straight line for me. I went through my own trials and tribulations and did a lot of work on myself before getting to a place of being able to focus on school and helping people; I knew I wanted to help others become more confident in themselves, walk through pain, and heal as I did. When I began my undergraduate degree, I was extremely intrigued by psychology courses and decided to study it exclusively. When I began my master’s degree in mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy, I knew I was in the right place, and I continue to feel that way every day.
