What is your typical process for working with clients?

Here's a glimpse into what a therapy session might be like for you, from someone who's been there: The Setup: Therapy sessions usually last around 45-50 minutes. You'll meet with your therapist in-person or virtually, which can feel awkward at first, but will start to feel safe and familiar over time. ADHD: Focus: Your therapist might ask you about your challenges with focus and organization. They might introduce strategies to manage them, like breaking down tasks or using timers. Restlessness: It's okay if you fidget or if sitting still is tough. A good therapist will understand ADHD and create a comfortable space for you to be yourself. Anxiety: Venting Space: You might spend some time talking about what's causing you anxiety. Your therapist will listen without judgment and help you identify your anxious thoughts. Calming Techniques: You might learn relaxation techniques like deep breathing or mindfulness exercises. Depression: Low Mood: It's okay to feel down. Your therapist will ask about your mood and what makes it worse or better. They'll help you develop coping mechanisms. Motivation: Feeling unmotivated is common with depression. Your therapist can help you set small, achievable goals and celebrate your progress. General Tips: Be Open: Therapy works best when you're honest with your therapist. It might feel scary at first, but they're there to support you, not judge you. Ask Questions: Don't hesitate to ask questions if something is unclear, or if you want to know more about a specific technique. It Takes Time: Don't expect instant results. Therapy is a journey, and you might have good and bad days. But with consistent effort, you'll start to feel better. Remember: You're not alone. There are many people living with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Therapy can be a powerful tool to manage these conditions and improve your overall well-being.
