Alexis Murty, an LPC-intern at LifeStance Health in Tennessee, is dedicated to helping clients achieve their mental health goals through a compassionate and strengths-based approach. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Tennessee with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Currently a second year Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s student, Alexis sees clients at a reduced rate. She specializes in treating individuals across a wide range of ages, from young adults to seniors, using person-centered therapy combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) techniques. Alexis understands the complex relationship between substance use disorders and other mental health conditions, and she draws from her extensive experience in a recovery facility to offer clients a wealth of resources, interventions, and coping strategies.
Alexis is particularly passionate about working with dual-diagnosis clients. Her empathetic approach is grounded in the belief that every client deserves unconditional positive regard, and she is committed to helping them navigate their mental health journey with tailored support and guidance. Beyond her primary specialties, Alexis is skilled in addressing a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, and life transitions.
She also has experience working with individuals dealing with eating disorders, gender identity concerns, and developmental disabilities. By integrating a person-centered perspective with existential and psychoeducational elements, Alexis offers a holistic approach to therapy that is both supportive and empowering. In her personal time, Alexis enjoys oil painting, camping, listening to music, and journaling, all of which help her maintain a balanced and creative lifestyle.
