I am an LMSW providing both individual and family therapy. I work with both adults and children, and enjoy tailoring the therapeutic process to each person I work with.
When I work with adults, my first priority is building a relationship so that we can create a plan that helps you make the most out of therapy. I am supportive and reflective, but I am also direct - I want you to get as much as possible out of our sessions! When appropriate, I utilize CBT, and incorporate DBT skills as well.
With children, I utilize both play and art in my sessions, but I also help my clients to develop and practice new skills where appropriate. I enjoy helping families to strengthen relationships, and I practice from an attachment perspective. Play is a child's natural way of communicating, which makes it a perfect fit for many children in therapy! I often work with older children, teens, and adults as well, and tailor my therapeutic approach to the needs of each person and family I work with.
My style is warm and caring, beginning with developing an authentic relationship with both you and your child from our very first conversation. I hold a comforting space that feels nurturing while also holding you accountable. This is the place to be vulnerable, honest, and truly yourself. Let’s be real, no one has everything figured out.
My goal is for my clients to learn new strategies and skills that will allow them to lead happier and more fulfilled lives. It is not always easy asking for help, so I applaud you for taking the first step. You might have identified goals or things you want to address, or might not know where to start. Either way I am here to begin the journey with you!
Our practice is out-of-network with insurance companies, which means that coverage can vary quite a bit depending on your plan. Our office can check your benefits ahead of the session so we can give you an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs. We also have a biller who will submit all claims for you. Unfortunately, Medicaid plans do not offer any out-of-network coverage for therapy.
