“I just ended long-term therapy with Sarah and can say I feel my life has truly transformed through this process. I had some long-standing patterns that were no longer serving me and, with Sarah's help, was able to gain greater understanding into how they developed and where they came from. Gradually, over time, I was to shift those behaviors, choices, and dynamics so that my relationships and life choices better fit with the life that I really wanted to live.”

Getting to know Sarah Meckler

I will work collaboratively with you to analyze areas you would like to improve, while helping you manage stress, clarify goals, and modify unwanted patterns of behavior. I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, trauma, and life transitions. I am also experienced in working with the LGBTQIA community, people in "non-traditional relationships," young adults, and adolescents. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and have received advanced training in Interpersonal Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute. Please note I am not in-network with any insurance carrier, but I do accept any insurance with out-of-network benefits. Caring, warm, and non-judgmental, I start by truly listening to understand your concerns. Together, we will develop an approach that fits your needs. I am here to support and guide you through your journey to enhance your life. We will work together to understand your life more fully so that you are better able to live the life you want to live. Please note if you have had a psychiatric hospitalization or suicide attempt within the last five years or struggle with substance abuse, this would not be the appropriate setting for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have over 20 years experience in the mental health field. I specialize in helping people identify what is holding them back and how to move toward what they want in life. My focus is on creating a safe, open-minded, and welcoming environment for all along the path toward self-discovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I enjoy working with people who have a curiosity about how their personal, familial, and cultural history effects their present lives. Together, we look at this closely in order to gain insight into why they do what they do, so that they are able to open up to a greater sense of inner freedom and ability to live a more fulfilled life.

More information on payments and coverage

I accept any insurance that has out of network benefits, usually indicated as a PPO plan. If you are unsure if you have out of network benefits, you can call you insurance carrier and ask them. I will submit the claims for you. Once your deductible is met, you will only pay the portion that is not covered by insurance. That amount differs based on your plan. You can get an estimate of that amount by calling your insurance carrier. I can also assist in obtaining that information if needed.
