Amanda comes from a community mental health background, working with clients in their homes and on the streets, often from highly disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them cope with intense mental health symptoms. This work required knowledge of family systems, cultural awareness and humility, adaptability in treatment, a philosophy of meeting the client ?where they are,? and a holistic approach to treatment planning. She has unique experience working with clients in home settings, developing coping skills across all aspects of life, and facilitating better communication and care for those supporting loved ones with mental illness (and vice versa). Amanda earned her Master's in Social Work from New York University. Before entering social work, she worked in art sales in New York City. She has two cats, Enkidu and Ishtar, and enjoys making art with found objects.
