Dr. Amaris Dennison is a bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Florida and New York. She earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Psychology with a major in Mental Health Counseling, both from Albizu University, Doral. She also holds a Master of Science in General Psychology from Albizu University. Additionally, Dr. Dennison is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida.
With over 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Dennison provides services to individuals and families across the lifespan, from children to older adults, in various clinical settings. She has worked with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, health-related problems, neurocognitive disorders, substance abuse, PTSD, veterans with combat trauma, military sexual trauma, and spinal cord injuries. Her specialties include anxiety, trauma, depression, and stress and burnout.
Dr. Dennison believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of therapy and strives to create a warm, safe space for open dialogue about clients' concerns. She treats everyone with respect and compassion, often maintaining a good sense of humor. Her approach is collaborative and individualized, integrating various modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, person-centered therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
