My name is Anna Hamel. I am a Licensed Social worker who is passionate about supporting adults navigating life’s challenges. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but finding the right person to talk to shouldn’t be, that’s a core belief of my therapy style. I work with adults who are feeling stuck, burnt out, anxious, grieving, or just tired of carrying it all alone. I offer a compassionate and down-to-earth space where you can feel understood, accepted, and empowered to grow.
I became a therapist because I know first hand how isolating it can feel to struggle silently and how powerful it can be to finally feel heard. My own experiences shape how I show up in the room, with empathy, humor, and a deep respect for your unique story. My role as your therapist is not someone who just nods and takes notes. I believe in real conversations, practical tools, and sometimes even sharing my own journey when it helps you feel less alone. My approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership and we have a space where you feel safe enough to explore the hard stuff and supported enough to grow through it.
I also have a special connection to the animal welfare and veterinary community and understand the unique emotional toll that caregiving roles can bring, including compassion fatigue and burnout. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin therapy. You don’t have to be in crisis to start therapy. If you desire clarity, connection, or just someone to help make sense of it all, I’d be honored to support you.
