My name is Ashley Nederveld, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from Western Michigan University. I work with clients via telehealth throughout the state of Michigan, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress.
My approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic to meet the unique needs of each client. I believe every person deserves a tailored treatment journey. I draw from multiple modalities, including strength-based, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My role is to join you on your path to wellness.
My focus
I have found that my approach works well for individuals navigating stress during life transitions, such as going off to college, welcoming a new baby, job or career changes, setting boundaries, or retirement adjustments. I have specific experience working with college students, perinatal mood disorders, infertility, and individuals in non-traditional relationship structures.
My communication style
I strive to provide a safe and secure environment where clients feel comfortable opening up, discovering themselves, and creating meaningful change. I pride myself on being relatable and accommodating while maintaining a judgment-free zone.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I believe in hope. I believe we all deserve to be our authentic selves, and I find fulfillment in helping others live their best lives. Whether in the therapy room or volunteering in my community, I enjoy supporting others in discovering their full potential.
