What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect therapy to be both practical and depth-oriented. We will explore patterns, attachment dynamics, trauma history, and current stressors, but we will also focus on tools you can use in real time. I value clarity and accountability. I will validate your experiences, and I will gently challenge you when growth requires it. Clients often describe my style as warm, direct, and thoughtful. I am especially attuned to how culture, faith, race, gender, and systemic pressures shape mental health. If you have ever felt misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces, we will name that and work differently. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. You just need to be willing to show up honestly.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on understanding your history, current concerns, goals, and what has or has not worked in the past. I conduct a comprehensive assessment so we can create a treatment plan that feels intentional rather than reactive. In ongoing sessions, we may: • Identify cognitive and behavioral patterns contributing to distress • Develop emotional regulation and nervous system skills • Explore relational dynamics and attachment themes • Process trauma in a paced, stabilization-first way • Clarify values and build aligned action steps I integrate structured skill-building with reflective processing. Sessions are conversational but clinically grounded. We will track progress, revisit goals, and adjust as needed. Therapy is not just about insight. It is about change that feels sustainable.
