My passion is to help you heal your intense emotions and thoughts both in a cognitive way, or your mind, and also in a somatic, or body awareness way. Alot of times we try to heal by just talking about our thoughts. It is important for us to know that our body has experienced the emotional or physical pain as well. It is important to listen to, understand, and heal both mind and body. I have been a therapist for over 18 years working with preteens through late adulthood, working on healing from intense emotions like anxiety, depression, guilt, shame and anger, to name a few. I have many years of experience working with difficult situations, various types of traumas and grief that affect all aspects of our life, including our thoughts, emotions, relationships with self, others, and our view of our world. I believe it is important to respect ourselves and learn the whole body way of healing, aiming for hope, strength, and success. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet your emotional needs. I also rely on mindfulness strategies and a solution-focused approach to my work in order to help you find solutions and to stay grounded in the present, even in the midst of challenging emotions. Just like you, everyone knows there is always more to the story to tell, and I find it best to walk with you, whether short or long term, through your journey and explore and learn more about yourself and find that strength and resilience inside of you. As Christopher Robin said, ""You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think."" I look forward to helping you find yourself again.
