I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I am an anxiety and trauma specialist and am accepting new clients for individual therapy via telehealth.
Before I started in the mental health field nearly a decade ago, I was a very anxious person. Today, I have a fundamentally different relationship with my anxiety. Through a combination of therapy and cultivating a routine centered around my strengths, passions, and values, I find myself feeling more confident, calm, and connected to my day-to-day experiences. My own journey toward mental health has allowed me to provide quality care to the individuals I work with and to provide a unique perspective on personal growth.
In my sessions, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, and meditation. Like my clinical approach to therapy, I pull from a variety of sources for my philosophical perspective on therapy as well. I've found the work of people like Thich Nhat Hanh, Ram Dass, and Viktor Frankl to be major influences on my approach, as have the important hobbies in my life like movies & TV, weightlifting, meditation, video games, and playing music.
?I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University and my bachelor's degree in psychology from North Carolina State University. Additionally, I have attended numerous trainings on the treatment of anxiety and traumatic stress.
