Getting to know Elise Boulay

My name is Elise Boulay, and I am an LICSW in Massachusetts and a Doctor of Social Work from Simmons University. I utilize a number of therapeutic modalities in an eclectic approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and crisis intervention. I am a firm believer in critical social work in which the client is the expert on their life and that I am available as a facilitator in their personal journey to recovery. I believe in empowering clients to advocate for themselves and to build their own toolbox of coping skills they can use during mental health struggles. In the first session, I get to know you as the client and what your personal goals are from therapy. We then collaborate on a plan to reach that recovery that may include several forms of modalities, all of which will be described to you so that you may make the decision on what you feel will be appropriate for you. From there, we work on the plan we created or can deviate if crises or other topics occur that need to be addressed immediately.
