Brian Weisner is a board certified Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of New York. He has been practicing for over 21 years and is now considered an expert in the field. Brian has a unique approach to treating his patients that differs from the ordinary PT. He specializes in hands-on “manual” physical therapy with a focus on Myofascial Release and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). IASTM uses specially designed instruments to provide a mobilizing effect to scar tissue and myofascial adhesion. Brian believes that the goal of all treatment sessions is to fix the underlying condition, not just treat the symptoms. He uses a collaborative team approach between therapist and patient in order to achieve successful outcomes and reach patient goals.
Brian’s passion for helping others is also evident prior to his Physical Therapy career. He was a fire fighter and EMT professional with the FDNY for 6 years. He still continues to volunteer as a firefighter in NYC. For the past 17 years, he has worked for the Board of Education in providing kids with special needs PT. He decided to enter into the field of PT following his own sports knee injury and subsequent PT treatment.
When he is not providing the highest possible care to each patient, Brian enjoys playing hockey, reading sci-fi books and spending quality time with his wife and their four children.
