I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is building a collaborative therapeutic relationship, which is why I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for my clients. My goal is to assist people in meeting their goals, finding solutions to their problems, and creating a better life for themselves. I believe an integrative approach is often the most helpful, as not everyone benefits from the same type of therapy. Most often, I find that cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal therapies work best; however, I tailor the treatment approach to what works for each individual client. Empowering every client is important to me, and I often focus on their strengths as part of the therapeutic process.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology and my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, Schaumburg Campus. I have experience working in private practice and community mental health settings, providing individual, group, and couples therapy. I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders and have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Additionally, I have experience in psychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my cat, Cosmo, as well as with friends and family. My favorite pastimes include reading, watching movies, and listening to music. Currently, I mostly listen to country music, but I enjoy a variety of genres including rock and pop. I also enjoy traveling to different places and learning about different cultures.
