I believe we all have different value systems. Our value systems are not static. They are dynamic and change with our life experiences. Also, I think we all perceive information through a filter developed over the years from many life experiences, most of them very young. Because of this filter, sometimes the data can be skewed and filled with cognitive distortions. My goal in working with you is to clarify that filter and recognize and honor your value system as it grows into who you want to be. I have 30 years of experience treating substance use disorders and individual, couples, adolescent, and family therapy. My primary modality is Motivational Interviewing, and the foundation for my work is cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems.
