Danielle is a mental health counselor who is passionate about supporting her clients through the anxiety, sadness, discomfort, and confusion that often accompany life transitions, change, and loss. These are universal human experiences, and yet, they are not viewed or discussed as such. More importantly, we are not taught how to cope with and work through such experiences. Danielle works with individuals in late adolescence to young adulthood, specializing in emerging adults and those struggling with the transitional period from adolescence to adulthood. Life transitions such as this, in addition to changes in relationship status, familial roles, school, or career are transitions which Danielle is passionate about supporting her clients through. Grief and loss is another aspect of change that is also universally experienced, but remains unique to the individual grieving. Grief can result from the death of a loved one, pregnancy loss, the loss of a relationship, or even the loss of a part of oneself. As a therapist, Danielle aims to guide and support her clients through various kinds of transition, change, and loss and the confusing or difficult emotions that come with these experiences.
Danielle’s approach in sessions is grounded in person-centered therapy, which means she emphasizes empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental attitude towards her clients and the subject matter of their sessions. Danielle is also guided by the principles of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which encourages clients to validate their emotional experiences while also making desired changes in their lives by utilizing mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Danielle’s therapeutic approach is generally integrative.
