I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). My focus is identifying how an individual functions in the different systems they must navigate daily. I support individuals in coping with the stress, anxiety, depression, or other feelings and thoughts that may come with this. I work with individuals who wish to explore self- identity and learn self-compassion. I support people writing their own story while honoring the history of those that came before.
I use a holistic approach that is strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, and mindful. In particular, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy in my practice. I emphasize caring for our mental health as much as our physical health as they are deeply intertwined.
My goal is to create a space where people feel comfortable to share their deepest emotions and thoughts, address burnout or moral injury, and prioritize their well-being. I emphasize duality in life and the notion that two things can exist at the same time; for example, space to fulfill your life obligations while still caring for and nurturing yourself.
I approach this therapeutic space using my personal experiences from navigating complex family dynamics, creating boundaries, and defining my identity. As Dr. Thema would say, “This is your homecoming. You are returning to yourself one sacred breath at a time.”
