Hello! My name is Beth Faulkner, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience. I specialize in helping adults 18 and over with feelings of depression and sadness, feelings of anxiousness in various situations, the overwhelming feelings of stress, the grief of loss and with many relationship issues. My goal for my clients is to develop new ways of thinking and behaving and gaining the tools for healthier relationships. I welcome the opportunity to assist you on your path to healing.
My approach
I primarily use a cognitive behavioral approach assisting clients to identify patterns of thinking and behaviors that keep us stuck and in identifying inner strengths that allow us to problem solve and utilize healthier tools that lead to happier lives. Other approaches such as solution focused, mindfulness and family systems are also used depending on the client’s needs.
My focus
I currently work with adults ages eighteen and over. I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, grief and relationship issues with individuals and couples. I also have extensive experience working with military populations and the unique issues they face.
My communication style
I strive to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with my client that’s built on respect, acceptance and compassion in a nonjudgmental environment. I am honest, kind and understanding yet direct in guiding you toward overcoming struggles and to a place of healing.
My journey to mental healthcare
From a young age my own life experiences and struggles led me to develop compassion, understanding and a desire to help others experiencing emotional pain and seeking healing. My career path working with struggling families, teaching in the educational system and seeing the need strongly influenced me to pursue the education needed to make a greater impact in helping others. I welcome the opportunity to join you on your journey.
