I have over 27 years of experience, initially focusing on medical social work. Since then, I have worked in child welfare, including roles in CPS and the Child Abuse Hotline in DC. This background has given me extensive experience in crisis intervention, depression, child abuse/trauma, anxiety, substance use, OCD, and domestic violence. I hold a Master's in Social Work from The University of Alabama. In recent years, I have provided virtual therapy to individual clients. When working with clients, I believe in allowing them to take the lead throughout the process, using a collaborative approach. I treat everyone with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. My approach is somewhat eclectic, tailored to each client's needs, and incorporates solution-focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. I like to envision therapy as redesigning a home: starting with the foundation, using old tools and discovering new ones, perhaps moving a wall or two-all to create the life you envision.
